Let's Rewind...

Soo in case nobody knew: college is hard, college is time-consuming, and college is busy! Since this was news to me this week, I've been unable to blog for awhile! But it's okay, it should only take about a million paragraphs to catch you all up! Yay!

Let's start with Sunday when Nathaniel Darling, Evan Walter, and Nathaniel's friend, Taylor met up and drove to try out our new church of choice, Fairfax Community Chapel. Now, we thought that considering the name of the church very closely resembles the name of our home church, it wouldn't be that different and we'd feel right at home, right? Wrong. We walk into the worship room and are astounded by the modern rock concert we were coming into, a soundboard the size of a queen sized bed, and holographic lights and shapes moving on the walls around us. Nina and Trav, Dominatrix woman would fit right in. We sat down and started singing the unfamiliar songs surrounded by unfamiliar faces, but I am glad we were there together. A little piece of the WCC brought to the FCC I guess. Once the service got started, a testimony was shared and the pastor proceeded with his talk. We all loved his talk about the value of friendship and true unconditional love. We also began to realize that although this church was different with its holographic shapes, flashing lights, and rock concert worship, the underlying message was the same as it's always been: Spreading the love of God to people through an inspiring service. We will be returning this Sunday.

Katy and I on the way about to leave for our second class on the first day!

So this brings us to Monday, the first day of classes. Joy. When I was walking to class all I think was "Why did I pick the biggest school in VA to attend?" I mean people, EVERYWHERE. Chaos on Campus. Mom and Dad I'm sure you'll be happy to know that although nothing morbidly embarrassing happened to me on the first day, I was the first one to a 200 person class..I'm officially a nerd and finally punctual, I guess college has a way of doing that to people. After going to an interactive seminar of only 20 people, stumbling into a 280 person math class was overwhelming! I found it funny that people, whether they are in middle school, high school, or college, will always seem to find the same things funny in a classroom setting. Such as, let's say, when someone's cell phone went on in that 280 person math lecture. I guess the saying is true that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Appreciation moment: THANK YOU parents for providing my books! As each teacher let me know that I needed even more multiple books and programs for their course, I stressed just at the thought of going into the crowded bookstore and possibly not finding the book I need in time for the next class; then, I realized how much more I'd be stressing if I had to come up with the money on my own to even purchase these unsuspectedly needed books in the first place, so thank you mom and dad, you have made life so much easier!
